On Monday morning, two ministers of the Madhesh state government along with the security chiefs of the state and district reached the Gobargadha island of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality 13 of Saptari, which is surrounded by the Koshi river from all sides.

Home and Communications Minister of Madhesh Province Rajkumar Lekhi, Forest and Tourism Minister Sakil Ali, Nepal Police Provincial Chief DIG Lalmani Acharya, Armed Police DIG Kalidas Dhouboji, Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal, District Police Chief Dhakendra Khatiwada, Armed Police Superintendent Gyanmani Paudel and other security officials have reached Gobargadha. . 

Although Hanumannagar is a ward of Kankalini municipality, this high-level visit to Gobargadha took place much later. The security chiefs along with the ministers of the province, along with the mayor of Hanumannagar Kankalini municipality Birendra Majhi, local people's representatives and the residents of Gobargadha informed about the situation of Gobargadha. 

Stating that Gobargadha is sensitive in terms of security, DIG Acharya of Nepal Police said that they will talk to the officials of the District Security Committee to restore the police post in Gobargadha. He said that immediately from the area police office located in Hanumannagar, he will direct the police patrol to Gobargadha in at least two days. "Even if it is in two days, the police team from Hanumannagar will reach Gobargadha and I will discuss with the district police leadership by instructing them to keep an eye on the situation there," said DIG Acharya. 

DIG Acharya said that information has been received from local residents that Gobargadha is like a checkpoint for smuggling. Acharya said that discussions will be held with the District Security Committee to adopt necessary measures to control smuggling.
