Saptari police arrested a person on Sunday on the charge of cheating by taking money by claiming to double the money.
Ram Bahadur Rajak alias Hanumani of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-6 has been detained by the police.
Rajak is accused of cheating by taking money from the public and doubling the amount.
Although there have been allegations of cheating by Rajak in Saptari for a long time, no complaint has been filed with the police. After the victim filed a complaint at the district police office, Rajak was arrested from the village on Sunday after obtaining an arrest warrant from the district court.
The Saptari police said that detailed information will be given after the extension of the deadline at the district court on Monday.
