The Saptari police has arrested a person who has been absconding for 11 and a half years after not paying the fine of 10 rupees imposed by the district court.

Samyukta Devi Dev, formerly of Diman Gavis-3, was fined Rs 10 each in three cases, 11 and a half years after the police arrested her on Sunday to pay the fine.

According to DSP Jitendra Kumar Basnet of Saptari, the Saptari District Court decided to fine him Rs 10 each in three cases, two forgery and one forgery, on 19th June 2070. Without paying the amount of the fine, Dev remained on the absconding list for 11 and a half years. DSP Basnet said that as part of the operation to arrest the fugitives launched by the police as part of the execution of the

decision, he was arrested from his home on Sunday and submitted to the court and he was released after paying the prescribed fine.

Recently Saptari police have arrested more than 200 people in three months as part of the campaign to arrest fugitives. Most of those arrested are absconding after being fined less than 100 rupees.
