The police have seized a large quantity of narcotic marijuana from the cargo truck. 160 kg of ganja was seized from a truck numbered Na 3 B 4212 at about 9.30 pm on Sunday night in front of the plastic factory located at Birgunj Metropolitan City-18 Bhawanipur Sitaram Chowk.
On the basis of a special information, the police team deployed from the District Police Office stopped and checked the truck coming from Paranipur towards the dry port. They found 160 kg of narcotic marijuana in 16 pouches with false bottoms made of red plastic and berries hidden in red plastic.
Truck driver 44-year-old Krishna Ghalan of Makwanpur Hetaunda Umanpa-7 and co-driver Ronal Bishwakarma, 20-years-old of Chitwan Jhurjhure Rapti Municipality-3 have been detained and action has been initiated for drug-related offences, Parsa police spokesperson DSP Kishore Lamsal informed.
