Rajviraj Bus Park in Saptari has not been operational even after seven years of construction. The construction of the bus park, which was supposed to be partially operational from 1st Baisakh 2080, was started in December 2074.
The construction work of Rajviraj Bus Park, which started after the fourth foundation stone laying, has been extended five times, but the work has not been completed.
Rajviraj Municipality-2 Construction of Rajviraj Bus Park has been started near Rajdevi Chowk. Although it is said that 85 percent of the construction work has been completed, the construction of the bus park could not be completed due to being delayed for a few works. 75 percent of the contract amount has been paid to the contractor company. As the bus park is not operational, now buses are parked on the main road of Rajviraj and buses are operated from there. When buses are operating from the main road and intersection, the traffic management has become unorganized and the appearance of the city has also been made ugly.
According to the tender made by Rajviraj for the construction of an organized bus park in Rajviraj-2, an agreement was reached on 19th of January 2074. According to Rajkumar Mishra, engineer of the project, Synergy Builders Pvt. Kuleshwar Kathmandu took the contract for 16 crore 38 lakh 96 thousand 519 rupees excluding VAT and there was an agreement that the construction work should be completed by December 18, 2077.
But for the first time, the construction work could not be completed within the specified period . According to Engineer Mishra, the deadline has been extended five times. The deadline extended for the fifth time is ending on 27th January 2081. Engineer Mishra said that he has been writing to the construction company many times before to complete the work within the specified time and recently he has been asked to complete the work within the specified time for the fifth time.
The Rajviraj Bus Park, which is in the final stages of construction, has always been in the midst of election issues, commitments and assurances.
