An inmate in the Jaleshwar Jail of Mahottari has died during treatment.

Six months ago, 30-year-old Nisaz Sunuwar of Sindhuli's Kamalamai Municipality-7 was sent to prison for a drug case by District Court Mahottari. District Police Office Mahottari said that he passed away on Sunday morning.

According to the prison, Sunuwar was taken to Jaleshwar Hospital at 8 am on Sunday after he became unwell. Spokesman of Jaleshwar Jail Mahottari Ravin Chandra Thakur informed that he died during treatment. Sunuwar's death was caused by a heart attack, according to Jaleshwar Hospital.

Sunuwar's body is now in the provincial hospital Jaleshwar. DSP Santu Jaiswar of District Police Office Mahotta said that his body will be handed over to his family after postmortem.
