Due to the negligence of the construction company, the construction work of the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital building at Rajviraj in Saptari could not be completed within the stipulated time. The construction of the hospital building has not been completed even after the deadline has been extended up to four times.

The construction of the hospital building and the cardiac center building, which is being done through the intensive urban and building construction project Rajviraj, has been delayed. There were two tenders for the construction of hospital buildings.

Intensive urban and building construction project According to Rajviraj, an agreement was signed with Contech/JEE JV for the construction of the hospital building on 16th January 2075. According to the tender agreement, which is worth 316 million 620 thousand 147 rupees 85 paise excluding VAT, the work should be completed by June 15, 2078. 

But the construction company could not work within the stipulated period according to the contract . After that, the construction work has not been completed even after the deadline has been extended four times. The latest added deadline is till 29th January 2081 . Although the physical progress in this construction work has been 90 percent, the construction company has not been seen to complete the work. 80 percent of this contract has been paid to the contractor. 

Similar is the case with the 75-bed capacity building and the Cardiac Center building being constructed at Gajendra Narayan Hospital. According to the agreement on June 24, 2078, these buildings should have been constructed by June 23, 2080 at a price of 150,269,350 rupees excluding VAT. But even these buildings could not be constructed in the stipulated time due to the negligence of the contractor . Despite the extension of the deadline twice, the completion of the construction of these buildings is still uncertain . 

In these plans, the deadline has been extended time and time again and the construction work has not been completed even in the extended time. Stakeholders say that the intensive urban and building construction project has been repeatedly suggested by Rajviraj, but the construction work has remained incomplete because the contractor could not be brought under the scope of action.

Rajkumar Mishra, the engineer of the intensive urban building project, said that he is repeatedly urging the contractor to complete the work on time. Shri Ram Tiwari, Medical Superintendent of Gajendra Narayan Hospital Rajviraj, said that the hospital is facing problems due to non-construction of a new building. He said that the operation theater is cramped in the old building and it will be solved if a new building is built.

At least 10 surgeries are done daily at Gajendra Narayan Hospital. Mesu Tiwari said that now HDU has only 12 beds and there is a problem with the addition of critical patients.

Tiwari said that OPD will be organized if the new building is constructed on time as there is insufficient space in the OPD due to the increase in the number of patients. According to Mesu Tiwari, due to lack of space and equipment, only 8 dialysis are being done at Gajendra Narayan Hospital, if a new building is constructed, the dialysis service can be increased .

150 Wade operating hospital building is old because of lack of cleanliness and convenience  He said that it can be arranged if a new building is constructed. Mesu Tiwari told that since the construction of housing for doctors and nursing staff is also in this plan, there is a problem that doctors and health workers have to stay outside due to lack of construction.
