Two people have been arrested by the police in the case of the murder of Armed Police Deputy Inspector Lakshman Prasad Yadav, who was run over by a vehicle by a liquor smuggler in Siraha on Sunday morning.
During the investigation, the police detained two people for questioning. Ramesh Pandit, Chief Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Siraha, said that they were detained on Sunday and necessary statements are being taken from them.
Police Superintendent Pandit informed that the vehicle used in this incident and the people involved have been identified. "We have detained two people and are investigating the incident," he said to Kantipur, "the identity of the vehicle and the person involved has been finalized." Yadav, who is working at the base camp in Badhari, Nepal-India border area, was killed at 3 am on Sunday at Kachanari in Bariyarpatti rural municipality-1 while he was on duty.
When trying to stop a Scorpio loaded with liquor from Nepal to India, the liquor smuggler ran away with the Scorpio on his life. Yadav's post-mortem was done at the provincial hospital in Lahan and was brought to his home in Naraha Rural Municipality 4 on Sunday evening and cremated.
