Healthcare from a dilapidated building

The health workers working at the Health Chowki in Bahudarmai Municipality-9 Vishrampur of Parsa are forced to provide services from a dilapidated building.

As there is also a birthing center in the health post, health workers stay in this building at night.

The health post built in 2026 is one of the oldest in the area. One office assistant and three health workers live in the building. The building is cracked in various places. The ceiling of the bedroom and the kitchen has caved in and the plaster has fallen on the floor. Health workers have complained that even water leaks during the rainy season.

According to senior Anami Binukumari Sahni, the plaster of the ceiling of the kitchen fell on the gas stove during the rainy season last year. "I was in the room," she said, "with a loud noise, the plaster of the ceiling came off and fell on the stove, the stove was crushed and unusable." At other times, the plaster is falling off. I am afraid even to sleep at night.'  Healthcare from a dilapidated building

Pramod Raut Kurmi, head of the health post, told that since the birthing center is in operation, the health workers are forced to stay in the dilapidated building at night. Kurmi said that four people, including two Anami, a senior Anami and an office assistant, were staying in the building. He said that many initiatives have been taken in the municipality for the construction of new buildings.

Health Chowki Chief Kurmi said that the government will allocate budget for building construction only if there is a red portion of land in the name of Health Chowki. For this, land is being determined. "Last Wednesday, a team came to measure the Ailani public land near the health post," he said. He said that the municipality is also taking steps to arrange temporary accommodation until the building is completed. It is reported that about five pregnant women come to the birthing center every month. From July to October, 21 pregnant women gave birth to babies at the birthing center, said the in-charge of the health post. He said that recently 5 pregnant women came to the center and gave birth till 16th of November. Healthcare from a dilapidated building
