Sumitra Subedi Bhandari, who was appointed as the head of Madhesh province, took charge of the office in Janakpur on Monday. Harishankar Mishra, the state chief of Madhesh province, was removed from his post after the power coalition was reshuffled. Bhandari has been appointed from UML Kota in his place.
The newly appointed state chief Bhandari has taken charge from Monday. Since the formation of the provincial government, Bhandari has become the 5th provincial head of Madhesh. Earlier, Mishra from Congress quota, Rajesh Jha Ahiraj from UML quota, Tilak Parivar from Maoist Center quota and Ratneswarlal Kayastha from JSPA quota have become the state chief.
The newly appointed provincial chief Bhandari was welcomed by Shatrudhan Yadav, acting secretary of the provincial chief's office. Provincial Chief Minister Bhandari said that according to the constitution, laws and regulations, the provincial chief will fulfill his responsibilities impartially and neutrally. She also promised her full support and cooperation in the campaign of development and prosperity of Madhesh province. "It is a good fortune to come to Janakpur, Janaki's birthplace," she told the media.
