Rambha Rural Municipality of Palpa has honored 15 smart mothers with cash. 15 people, three each from all five wards, were honored with a cash award of Rs 10,000, a certificate of appreciation, a dosalla, a handbag, and health supplies. Under the

program, the recommendations were made by health institutions in Hungi, Phoksingkot, Pipaldanda, Humin, and Tahun, said Health Branch Chief Shiva Prasad Aryal. He said that the best mothers as well as the focal persons of all five health posts were honored on the same occasion. Health Branch Chief Aryal said that the mothers of a thousand days were honored as per the work guidelines, based on 16 indicators, for the implementation of nutrition-friendly local governance.

Rural Municipality Chairman Bishnu Prasad Bhandari, Vice-President Radha Kumari Shrestha, Chief Administrative Officer Bir Bahadur Pun, Health Branch Chief Aryal, and others honored them. The health department has stated that nutrition health education, agricultural production education and vegetable seed mini packets of the current season have been distributed in every ward under the program for the promotion of vegetable farming. Public Health Inspector Mahesh Prasad Acharya said that steel filters for water purification have also been distributed to mothers of a thousand days for clean drinking water management.

The village executive has passed the procedure 2082 for the Smart Mothers Award. Accordingly, health workers were mobilized in all the communities of the 5 wards in the months of Chaitra and Baisakh. Vice President Radha Kumari Shrestha said that those who scored the highest points in the evaluation of the facts of health service consumption by mothers and certified documents and records related to the services of health institutions were honored.

As per the recommendation of the health institution to the municipality for the award, the budget has been managed for 15 people from 5 wards for the Smart Mother Award, Chief Administrative Officer Bir Bahadur Pun said. He said that all the mothers who participated in the competition were excellent and that the Smart Mother Award was given from this year with the goal and expectation of ending malnutrition in the community and bringing the child mortality and maternal mortality rate to zero.

The health department has stated that out of the four health posts and one primary health center in all five wards for the implementation of nutrition-friendly local governance in Rambha Rural Municipality, Hungi and Pipaldanda health posts have already been declared nutrition-friendly health institutions, which have completed 15 points out of 16 indicators of the standard. The health department has stated that activities are moving forward with the goal of declaring the remaining three in the coming fiscal year.

To implement the 51 indicators of nutrition-friendly local governance, a multi-sectoral nutrition and food hygiene steering committee has been formed in the ward and municipality as per the guidelines to implement them in the ward and municipality. Two OTC treatment centers have been established and operated in the previous year to manage nutritional health problems in children. This year, four more OTC centers have been built in Humin and Peepaldanda health posts.
