A tiger was found dead in the Madhav Community Forest in the central area of Bardiya National Park on Monday. The park has said that a female tiger, about one year old, was found dead in the forest in Geruwa Rural Municipality-1.
Sarojmani Poudel, the park's information officer, said that initial investigations showed that two tigers had fought to death. The other tiger was injured but is safe. The park has said that a post-mortem of the deceased tiger has been conducted.
On 26 Chaitra 2081, two male tigers, aged 10/12, had fought to death in the dense bushes between Laguna Phanta and Ganda Machan in the park.
According to the latest census, there are 125 tigers in Bardiya National Park.
