The Lumbini Provincial Government has approved the submission of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084 to the Provincial Assembly. The Cabinet meeting held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Rapti Valley (Deukhuri) on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya approved the submission of the budget, appropriation bill and financial bill for the upcoming fiscal year to the Provincial Assembly.
After the meeting, Government Spokesperson and Health Minister Ramji Prasad Ghimire said that the proposals submitted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning have been approved by the Council of Ministers.
A meeting of the Provincial Assembly has been called at 5 pm on Monday to present the budget. The Cabinet meeting approved the submission of the appropriation bill to the Provincial Assembly to make arrangements for the allocation and expenditure of funds from the Provincial Consolidated Fund for services and works for the fiscal year 2083/084.
Similarly, approval has been given to submit the financial bill prepared to implement the provincial government's financial proposals and the budget statement along with the revenue and expenditure estimates for the upcoming fiscal year to the provincial assembly.
It is stated that the upcoming fiscal year's budget prioritizes projects of provincial pride, continuity of multi-year and sequential plans, increase in agricultural production, employment creation, education, health, drinking water, road infrastructure development and good governance.
The provincial government had brought a budget of Rs 38.91 billion for the current fiscal year 2082/083. The agenda for Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Dhanendra Karki to present the budget to the provincial assembly includes the size of the budget, resource management and priority areas for the upcoming fiscal year.
