Shanta Budha Chhetri has been elected as the president of the first district convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) Bardiya.
Budha received 158 votes for the president position from the district convention held on Saturday. Her competitor Uday Bahadur Khatri received 46 votes. Durga Prasad Tharu won the vice-president position by getting 152 votes. His competitor Mukesh Kumar Tharu received 35 votes.
Deepak Bahadur BC won the secretary position by getting 147 votes. His competitor Laxmi Prasad Neupane received only 53 votes. Sharash Chandra Tiwari won the joint-secretary position by getting 131 votes. His competitor Rabindra Upadhyay received 62 votes.
Similarly, Arjun Bhandari, Hem Raj Subedi, Ajit Kumar Malla, Som Bahadur Gurung, Ramesh Aryal, Bishnu Prasad Upadhyay, Gita Khadka and Lila Paneru have been elected as open members. The election committee has stated that 231 votes were cast out of a total of 301 votes cast in the district.
The results of the voting that continued till late were made public on Saturday night. It is said that the district working committee will consist of 21 members. The elected office bearers are scheduled to take oath at the party office in Gulariya on Sunday afternoon, informed Him Bahadur Pun, the municipal president of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Gulariya.
