It has been reported that 19 people who were rescued from Kushinagar, India, on charges of victimizing the general public by operating a networking business have been taken into custody and an investigation has been launched.

Police rescued 453 people, including 115 women and 338 men, and brought them to Bhairahawa on Saturday. Of these, 109 women and 325 men were released on Saturday evening in the presence of local people's representatives and journalists after completing the necessary procedures.

The remaining 19 people, including 6 women and 13 men, have been taken into the custody of the Rupandehi police for further investigation, said Rupandehi Police Chief SP Janak Shahi. They were rescued and brought to the District Police Office via the Belahiya checkpoint on Saturday afternoon. It is said that since the rescued people are under investigation, other Nepalis are being taken to India to engage in networking, collect ransom and hold hostages if they do not comply.
