Kotahimai Rural Municipality had published a notice on Monday for the protection of public, open, and vacant land, canals, ponds and other structures within the rural municipality in accordance with the letter from the Rupandehi District Administration for the protection and record management of public land. Such lands have been asked to be vacated within 15 days of the publication of the notice. The rural municipality has stated that if they do not vacate, they will be evicted as per the law.

Mayadevi Rural Municipality has issued a notice on Tuesday asking them to vacate encroached public land, roadsides, river banks, open spaces, private land, monastery-temple and school lands within their area. The notice signed by the acting chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, Narayan Prasad Lamichhane, states that if such land is not vacated within 15 days of the publication of the notice, it will be done as per the law. Sammarimai Rural Municipality has also issued a notice to vacate encroached public, government land and public places.

Sainamaina Municipality has already issued a notice on 17 Baisakh and issued a 15-day notice to vacate houses, huts and structures built against the standards along the Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section within the municipal area. It has been stated that if the structures are not vacated within the specified period, they will be removed as per the prevailing law.

Lumbini Cultural Municipality has been conducting a campaign to remove encroaching structures built in its area for a month. Mayor Kalpana Harijan said that the encroached areas have been vacated as per the law after the notice was ignored.

She said that the process of removing houses and huts built by occupying public land in various areas of the municipality is still ongoing. There are 16 local levels in Rupandehi. After the district administration's correspondence, all municipalities have published a notice and given a 15-day 'ultimatum' to remove the encroached structures.
