Three sisters and a man have been arrested along with illegal drugs.
14 kg 427 grams of illegal drugs were seized from Manisha Gharti Magar, 37, and Dilkumari Gharti Magar, 37, of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6, Baglung, and Dilkumari Gharti Magar, 40, of Rukumpurba Bhume Rural Municipality-1, at Krishnanagar Bus Park in the border market.
The three women were arrested while hiding the illegal drugs in bags and belts, said District Police Spokesperson DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh. All three are daughters of the same parents. Nakul Gharti Magar, 34, of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6, Baglung, who was with them, was also arrested. Although the drugs were not recovered from him, he was arrested while he was with them.
They were arrested on Tuesday evening around 7 pm while walking towards India from near Krishnanagar Bus Park. They were arrested 200 meters from the border. The police seized the hashish during a suspicious check after the smell of hashish was detected due to the extreme heat. The police said that they were being investigated after the court extended their remand for 7 days on Wednesday.
