The Lumbini Provincial Assembly unanimously passed the ‘Bill for the Establishment, Operation and Management of the Lumbini Research and Training Institute’.

In Friday’s meeting, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Development Bhumishwar Dhakal, on behalf of Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya, presented a proposal to discuss and pass the bill. Speaker Tularam Gharti Magar announced the unanimous passage of the bill, informing about the purpose of the bill. 

The aim is to provide training to elected or nominated officials of the provincial and local levels, government bodies and employees working in public organizations and to promote research related to federalism, good governance and development management.

Similarly, the 11th meeting held in the afternoon has decided to send the ‘Bill for Amendment to the District Assembly and District Coordination Committee Operation Act, 2075 BS’ to the Provincial Affairs and Law Committee for further discussion. The proposal was also presented by Minister Dhakal.

In the tenth meeting, Provincial Assembly members Tulsi Prasad Chaudhary, Khadga Basnet, Indrajit Tharu, Ramji Ghimire, Maya Pun, Janaki Neupane, Chandrakesh Gupta, Mina Budha, Sudhakar Pandey, Ambika Kafle and Wasiuddin Khan expressed their views on contemporary issues. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Sita Sharma Chaudhary and Minister for Industry, Tourism and Transport Prachanda Bikram Neupane answered the questions raised in the meeting.

Similarly, in the 11th meeting, Provincial Assembly members Nima Giri and Neelam Paswan addressed the meeting. The meeting has decided to send the ‘Bill to amend the Forest Act 2078’ to the Agriculture, Forest and Environment Committee for clause-wise discussion. The proposal was presented by Minister for Forest and Environment Devkaran Prasad Kalwar. 

The next meeting of the Provincial Assembly is scheduled to be held on Sunday, April 6 at 1 pm.
