A police team deployed with specially trained dogs to detect drugs and explosives arrested four people with undisclosed amounts of money and drugs during a surprise check. The team arrested three people with undisclosed amounts of Rs 8 lakh and Indian rupees 1 lakh from two different locations in Maryadpur Bazaar in Yashodhara Rural Municipality, and one person with drugs. While checking Akhalak Khan, 31, of Yashodhara Rural Municipality-7, who was riding a motorcycle with the registration number Lu51Pa 1909, 800 notes of Rs 1,000 were recovered from the bag he was carrying. Similarly, while checking the motorcycle with the registration number Lu65Pa 398, Ajay Gupta, 26, of Mayadevi Rural Municipality-5, and Dukhi Mallah, 27, of Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality-9, who was sitting behind him, 100,000 Indian rupees of Rs 500 were recovered from the driver Gupta. The three people along with the seized notes have been sent to the Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal for investigation.
Similarly, 26-year-old Bablu Yadav of Yashodhara Rural Municipality-5 was arrested with 12 tablets of Spasprox, which are used as narcotics, hidden in the seat cover of a motorcycle with registration number UP55AW 0596, said District Police Spokesperson and DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh.
During the investigation, 14 police officers and two dogs from the Canine Branch, District Police and Maryadpur outpost, along with two trained dogs from the Gautam Buddha Airport Security Office in Bhairahawa, were deployed.
