A young man was killed by a sharp weapon in Rapti Rural Municipality. Another person was seriously injured. Police have arrested three people, including a girl, on charges of involvement in the murder.
On Friday morning, 16-year-old Ayushman Thapa Magar, a resident of Rapti Rural Municipality-2, was found seriously injured after being attacked with sharp weapons in various parts of his body. While he was undergoing treatment at Rapti Basic Hospital Sishaniya, Ayushman's sister Ramita Khamcha Magar informed the police that his friend Smit Pradhan, who was with him, had gone missing.
Upon receiving the information, a team deployed under the command of Police Inspector Pushkar Singh Airi from the Area Police Office, Bhaluwang, started a search. During the search, the body of 16-year-old Smit Pradhan was found in a paved drain of Dolai Khola in Maurighat, Rapti Rural Municipality-4 at 12:00 pm on Friday.
His body was found with sharp weapons on various parts of his body, informed Police Inspector Baburam Basnet of the District Police Office.
Police arrested three people who were absconding after the incident on Saturday morning. The arrested are Sandeep Wali, 20, of Banglachuli Rural Municipality-8 and currently residing in Rapti-4, Nischal Chaudhary, 18, of Maurighat, Rapti-4, and a girl. The initial conclusion of the police is that a teenager called them to meet and attacked them on the way. Police Inspector Basnet said that a detailed investigation is underway into the incident.
Thapa Magar, who was seriously injured in the attack, was taken to Bhairahawa Medical College for further treatment after receiving primary treatment in Sisahania on Friday night.
