The fire that broke out at the Lumbini Development Trust premises in Rupandehi on Thursday morning was extinguished. The fire that broke out at 10:30 am in the forest area of the trust premises was extinguished after three hours. As a result, important structures in the premises have been saved.
According to DSP Pankaj Poudel, Chief of the Lumbini Base of the Armed Police Force, the fire that broke out at 10:30 am has damaged 300 bighas of forest area. The fire broke out near the International Conference Center on the premises. DSP Poudel said that the efforts of all security agencies and local stakeholders prevented damage to the conference center, library and museum.
According to him, 25 Nepal Army, 30 Armed Police, 15 Nepal Police, 10 from the Lumbini Development Trust, and 10 from the municipality were deployed to control the fire. DSP Poudel said that a road was built using a JCV to prevent the fire from spreading. According to him, a fire engine and an ambulance were also used. He said that the fire control was possible with the joint efforts of all agencies.
