The local administration has extended the prohibitory order area on Sunday after the dispute between two communities in Bargada village of Maharajgunj Municipality in Kapilvastu escalated on Saturday morning and created an uncomfortable situation.

The prohibitory order has been issued from 1 pm on Sunday from Labani Chowk in the east to Bargdighat Bridge in the west and from Dharmabhakta Mavi Bavni in the south to Pachehara Chowk in the north. The area where the prohibitory order has been issued currently includes Kapilvastu Municipality, Mayadevi and Suddhodana Rural Municipality.

Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam has issued the prohibitory order under Section 6, Section 3A of the Local Administration Act 2028. Pradya Gautam said that those who violate the order will be taken into custody and action will be taken as per the law. Gatherings, meetings, processions and demonstrations are not allowed until further orders.

Earlier, a prohibitory order was issued from 2 pm on Saturday until further orders, prohibiting gatherings, meetings, processions and demonstrations in the East Bargadi Bridge, West Bahadurgunj Chowk, North Maharajgunj Bazaar and South Hardauna of Maharajgunj Municipality. This order is also in effect.

Currently, the district headquarters Taulihawa Bazaar is closed. The markets have not opened since morning. Similarly, Bahadurgunj, Barrohiya, Pakadi and Labani Bazaars are also closed.
