Four people have died in a tipper accident in Palpa.
The deceased have been identified as Chinta Bahadur Sunar (driver), 26, of Sitganga Municipality-4, Arghakhanchi, Sunil B.K., 26, of the same place, Sunil Nepali, 26, of Khaireni, Devdaha Municipality-2, Rupandehi, and Rajan Chidi, 33, of Tansen Municipality-10, Palpa.
Three people died on the spot in the accident, while Chidi, who was seriously injured, was referred to Bhairahawa Medical College, Rupandehi for treatment, but died during treatment, said Hom Prakash Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Palpa.
According to the police, the empty tipper (Lu 2 Kha 4525) was heading from Jhadeva, Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-4, towards Chundhunga Mine, Ward No. 7, Rahbas, on Saturday night. There were four people on board, including the driver, in the accident.
After the accident, all the injured were taken to Lumbini Medical College, Prabhas, in Tansen for treatment, where three people were declared dead by doctors. Police said the tipper that crashed fell about 50 meters off the road.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
