Mini-tillers have been distributed to 10 farmers at a 50 percent subsidy to help them increase their income by using technology in vegetable production.

The National Agricultural Modernization Program, Program Implementation Unit Jitpur has provided mini-tillers under the Chakalabandi program to be carried out by cooperative-based farmers.

Rakesh Ojha, head of the program implementation unit, handed over the mini-tiller to Mahant Kewat, president of Dhankauli Agricultural Cooperative Society in Buddhabhumi Municipality-10. The mini-tillers have been provided with the aim of encouraging farmers affiliated with the cooperative to grow floating vegetable crops. A 50 percent subsidy has been given for the mini-tiller, which costs 75 thousand.

Along with the mini-tiller, a spray tank, 10 kg delivery pipe for irrigation, silk thread and seed fertilizer have been provided. The mini-tiller is useful for plowing and harrowing. Similarly, the facility to attach additional equipment for irrigation and spraying has been provided to the currently distributed mini-tillers.

Buddhabhumi Municipality-10 is considered a good pocket area for vegetable production in the district.
