Nepal Oil Corporation Lumbini Provincial Office has directed sellers to submit complete transaction details on a daily basis to facilitate the distribution of cooking LPG gas.
Following the increasing complaints that consumers are unable to easily obtain cooking gas due to the ongoing war in West Asia, the provincial office of the corporation in Bhalwari, Rupandehi has made such a provision to facilitate supply and prevent artificial shortages.
Shailendra Bhusal, Lumbini Provincial Chief of the corporation, said that all gas dealers in the districts under the corporation's Bhalwari office have been required to submit all transactions received from the industry and sold to consumers to the district administration and the provincial office of the corporation on a daily basis.
‘This rule has been implemented to prevent artificial shortages that may occur from sellers and the tendency of consumers to buy more and keep stock,’ Bhusal said, ‘This has started to reduce the number of complaints from consumers about not getting gas.’
According to Bhusal, this rule clearly shows the quantity of gas received by gas dealers from the industry. He said, ‘Consumers should submit details of their purchases daily by taking their citizenship and identity card numbers.’ ‘This also shows whether the same person has repeatedly bought and kept stock,’ he said.
The Lumbini Provincial Office of the Corporation located in Bhalwari, Rupandehi has been supplying petroleum products and gas to West Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Gulmi, Syangja, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, East Rukum and Baglung.’
According to the provincial office, gas imports in Falgun were about 1,000 metric tons higher than in the previous month and Magh. This office imported 6,758 metric tons of gas in the previous month and 6,575 metric tons in Magh, while 7,488 metric tons were imported in Falgun.
Bhusal said that gas imports have increased slightly compared to the previous month and that gas imports are still being regularized according to demand. ‘Due to the ongoing war in West Asia, there has been some inconvenience in the distribution system when consumers suddenly demanded to store gas,’ he said. ‘With this rule, there will be no complaints about not getting gas within two to four days.’
