A person has died after a jeep and a scooter collided in Pokharathok, Palpa along the Siddhartha Highway.
Khileshwor Ghartimagar, 36, of Jaunpokhara, Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-1, Chidipani, died in an accident on the Siddhartha Highway road section at Rokadanda, Baganaskali Rural Municipality-2, according to the District Police Office, Palpa.
A Bolero pickup jeep (Lu 1 Cha 3740) coming from Aryabhanjyang towards Bartung collided with a scooter (Lu 84 Pa 4348) coming from the opposite direction along the highway.
Scooter driver Gharti Magar was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Lumbini Medical College Prabhas for treatment, said Rajkumar Panthi, ward chairman of Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-1, Chidipani.
The deceased Khileshwor Ghartimagar was working in the Indian Army. Police have said that the driver of the jeep has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
