A man who went to cut down trees in Bardiya National Park has been found dead after four days.
Prem Bahadur Wali, 65, of Asneri, Bansgadhi Municipality-4, was found dead in the core area of the park on Friday.
Wali had gone to cut down trees inside the park last Monday. The park had opened the park for logging on Monday and Tuesday. Relatives had informed the police when Wali did not return home after cutting down trees.
On Friday morning, a team of about 300 people entered the park for a search and rescue operation, and Yam Bahadur Khatri, 58, of Bansgadhi Municipality-4, was injured in a tiger attack, DSP Pramesh Bista said. The injured Khatri is currently undergoing treatment at a medical college in Kohalpur.
