The treatment services available at the Civil Service Hospital in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu can now also be availed from the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences in Ghorahi. For this, an agreement was signed between the two institutions on Wednesday regarding the expansion of services. The agreement was signed by the Executive Director of the Civil Service Hospital, Prof. Dr. Mohan Chandra Regmi, and the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Prof. Shyam Lamsal.
According to the agreement, incumbent civil servants and their dependent families will now be able to avail the treatment facilities available at the Civil Service Hospital from the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences. A maximum of six people, including father, mother, husband or wife and two children under the age of 21, under the dependent family will be eligible for a 40 percent discount on treatment.
Similarly, retired civil servants will be given a 50 percent discount on all types of services. However, this facility will not be applicable to OPD services, ambulances and medicines. It has been arranged that the details of the employee must be registered with the Civil Service Bookstore to avail the treatment facilities. The hospital will verify the details of the employees by connecting them to the library network through software. If the details are not registered, the recommendation of the concerned office head will be required.
Acting Vice Chancellor Lamsal said that Rapti Institute of Health Sciences is preparing to start this service from 1 Baisakh 2083. According to him, Rapti is the first institution among the health science institutes to take such an initiative for civil servants. Executive Director of the Civil Service Hospital, Regmi, said that this collaboration has been made in accordance with the plan to expand the service to all seven provinces of the country.
The agreement mentions that both institutions will collaborate in the fields of human resource training and health research along with treatment services. Recently, Rapti Institute of Health Sciences has been working by prioritizing the expansion of educational programs and specialized hospital services.
