According to the final results, 51,848 votes were cast for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP)'s bell election symbol, 28,445 votes for the CPN-UML's sun symbol, 25,291 votes for the Nepali Congress' tree symbol, 5,785 votes for the Nepali Communist Party's star symbol, 1,287 votes for the Rastriya Janamorcha's glass symbol, 1,085 votes for the Rastriya Prajatantra Party's plow symbol and 934 votes for the Shram Sanskriti Party's soil symbol. Some other votes have gone to smaller parties.
Looking at it this way, the RSVP is first in Gulmi, the UML is second, and the Congress is third. While the RSVP has made a sudden leap forward, the UML, the Congress, and the NCP have shrunk. There has been a turmoil in the arithmetic as people have changed their votes in areas that are considered traditional strongholds and votes.
