Bail of 51 people, including former minister and provincial chief minister, confiscated in Dang

The bail of former Urban Development Minister Metmani Chaudhary, who is a candidate from the Nepali Communist Party, and former Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Kul Prasad KC, who is an independent candidate, have also been forfeited. Chaudhary was elected as an MP from the same constituency in 2074 and 2079 BS. The bail of UML candidate Rewatiraman Sharma has also been forfeited here.

The deposits of 51 people in Dang, including a former federal minister and former chief minister of Lumbini Province, have been confiscated. Out of 60 candidates in three constituencies in the district, only 9 have secured more than 10 percent of the votes. The Lumbini Province Election Office, Dang, has informed that the deposits of another 51 people have been confiscated.

In Constituency No. 1, only two out of 14 people have secured 10 percent of the votes. Only the victorious National Independent Party candidate Devraj Pathak and the Congress's joint general secretary Yogendra Chaudhary have saved their deposits.

The deposits of former Urban Development Minister Metmani Chaudhary, who became a candidate from the Nepali Communist Party, and former chief minister of Lumbini Province Kul Prasad KC, who filed an independent candidacy, have also been confiscated. The deposits of other candidates, including NCP candidate Nirmal Acharya, have been forfeited.

In Constituency No. 3, four out of 23 candidates have secured 10 percent of their votes. Only Kamal Subedi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Deepak Giri of the Congress, Ghanshyam Panda of UML and Dhan Bahadur Maski of the NCP have saved their deposits, said Acting Provincial Election Officer Lal Singh Khadka.
