Sale of alcohol banned in Gulmi from Falgun 16

The sale of alcohol has been banned in Gulmi from Falgun 16. The sale of alcoholic beverages has been banned in view of the upcoming House of Representatives elections. Chief District Officer Badrinath Gaire informed that the all-party meeting has decided to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages from Falgun 16. He said that the sale of alcohol has been banned from Falgun 16 to 21.

Keeping in mind the security of the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21, the sale, distribution and consumption of alcoholic beverages has been completely banned in Gulmi district for five days. According to Chief District Officer Gaire, the sale and consumption of alcohol has been banned to maintain peace and security during the election and to prevent any untoward incident. He also said that the District Administration Office, Gulmi is committed to ensuring that the election process is conducted in a clean, fair and fear-free environment. Preparations are also being made to strictly monitor the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages during the period when the sale of alcohol is banned. 

Action will be taken against individuals or businessmen who violate the decision as per the prevailing law. Chief District Officer Gaire has said that the District Police Office is conducting regular monitoring and joint patrols in this regard.
