From now on, flights will be operated only three times a week at Resunga Airport here. Nepal Airlines Corporation has changed the schedule of flights to Gulmi, which used to operate on Thursdays.

Nepal Airlines Corporation had previously been operating four flights a week on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

With the change in the flight schedule, from now on, there will be only three flights a week on Sunday, Tuesday and Saturday, informed Suman Thapa, Station Chief of Resunga Airport, Gulmi.

Nepal Airlines Corporation currently has only three Twin Otter aircraft and the aircraft need to be repaired from time to time, so the corporation has changed the previous regular schedule for some time due to the lack of aircraft. Except for rainy season, bad weather and thick fog, regular flights have been operating at Resunga Airport for the last three months.

Nepal Airlines Corporation has been operating flights from Kathmandu to Resunga Airport at 6:30 am and from Resunga Airport at 7:30 am using an 18-seat Twin Otter aircraft. The corporation has fixed the fare from Kathmandu to Gulmi at Rs 7,500 and from Gulmi to Kathmandu at Rs 7,300.

Due to the high air pressure at Resunga Airport during the day, flights are only operated in the morning from a technical point of view.

With the start of air flights in the district, the number of domestic and foreign tourists coming to the district has also increased. Citizens of this region, who were forced to travel for eighteen hours to reach the capital, can now travel to the capital from Gulmi in 45 minutes by air.

The number of citizens using air services in the district has been increasing in recent times. However, despite the increase in the number of passengers, the number of flights is small and the flight schedule keeps changing, which is causing problems for passengers in this region. Nepal Airlines Corporation had started commercial air service in the district since 29 Baisakh 2080.
