An agriculture, tourism, industry, trade and a large cultural festival are set to begin in Gulariya from Monday.
The festival is being organized by Krishnasar Janachetana Youth Sport Club from Monday near the Gulariya Municipality-7 bus park. The festival will run till Falgun 7.
The festival is being organized with the aim of completing the incomplete Budhanilkantha temple under construction in Gulariya Municipality-4, Kailashnagar, said SK Siddhant Sharma, president of Krishnasar Janachetana Youth Sport Club. ‘The five-storey Budhanilkantha temple under construction is incomplete due to lack of budget,’ said President Sharma, ‘The incomplete temple will be completed with the money raised from the festival.’
A 10 percent discount has been arranged for the locals of Gulariya who set up stalls at the festival, said festival coordinator Raju Bhandari. He said that 100 stalls will be set up at the festival. The organizers estimate that the festival will generate a turnover of Rs 4 million.
The festival entry fee is set at Rs 100. In which the disabled, helpless, and elderly people have been completely exempted, while students and the elderly have been given a 20 percent discount. The organizers have stated that the festival will feature performances by local and national artists, exhibitions of local products, Tharu art and culture, and Tharu cuisine.
