Tek Bahadur Shahi, head of the District Election Office, said that the names of NCP's Deepak GM and independent candidate Suryaksh Regmi, who had filed their candidacies in Banke Constituency No. 3, were kept on 'pending' status as some objections were found when they were entered on the commission's website.
In Banke, which has three constituencies, 60 candidates, including those from various political parties and independents, have registered their candidacies. Four women have registered their candidacies in Constituency No. 1 and 3. There is no female candidacy in Constituency No. 2.
Former provincial MP Krishna KC has filed her candidacy in Constituency No. 1. She has become a candidate from the Progressive Democratic Party. Three women have filed their candidacies from Constituency No. 3. According to the District Election Office, 16 candidates, including three independents, have filed their candidacies in Banke-1, while 22 candidates, including three independents, have filed their candidacies in Constituency No. 2. Similarly, 22 candidates, including five independents, have filed their candidacies in Constituency No. 3. The Election Office has informed that the candidacies of Deepak GM of the Nepali Communist Party and independent candidate Suryaksh Regmi, who filed their candidacies in Constituency No. 3, have been kept in ‘pending’ status.
