UML has finalized its candidates from both constituencies of Bardiya. UML has nominated Shalikram Adhikari from Constituency No. 1 and Bimala BK from Constituency No. 2.
Adhikari is the UML Bardiya president and former mayor of Bansgadhi Municipality, while BK is a former minister. UML had recommended the names of 5 people including Adhikari from Constituency No. 1 and 5 people including BK from Constituency No. 2.
Similarly, CPN (United) has nominated Indra Bahadur Rawal of Gulariya Municipality-8 from Bardiya Constituency No. 1 and Nita Sharma of Madhuban Municipality-4 from Constituency No. 2.
Congress has not finalized its candidates till Sunday afternoon. Deepak BC, secretary of the National Independent Party Bardiya, said that preparations are underway to make the candidate's name public by Sunday evening.
Pantha was defeated by a narrow margin in the Bardiya-2 House of Representatives election from the then Unified Maoist in 2079 BS.
