On Wednesday morning, the flag was handed over to the East-West March Team at Border Pillar No. 578.4 in Thakurapur, Vijayanagar Rural Municipality-5 in the west.
A team of armed forces from the west has arrived in Kapilvastu as part of the East-West Flag March program organized to mark the silver jubilee of the establishment of the Armed Police Force.
The East-West flag march team that came from Dang via the border was handed over by Armed Police Force No. 29 Battalion, Jwalamai Dang, Armed Superintendent Manoj Dhital, to Armed Police Force No. 28 Battalion, Kapilvastu, Armed Superintendent Netra KC.
The flag was handed over to the East-West march team at Border Pillar No. 578.4 located in Thakurapur, Vijayanagar Rural Municipality-5 in the west on Wednesday morning.
After that, a team of 35 members of the armed forces started the flag march by walking to the Kapilvastu border post. The East-West flag march will be handed over to Rupandehi under the protection of Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality via Krishnanagar, Bhilmi, Hadauna, Maryadpur and Chakarchauda.
The campaign began on December 20 from Ilam in the east and Gadda outpost in the far west. Although the campaign was scheduled to conclude in Parsa on Magh 7, the closing ceremony, which was scheduled for Magh 9, the Armed Forces' founding day, has been postponed a few days. The team is marching on foot to raise awareness at the border checkpoints.
