Nominations are being registered today for the National Assembly member election to be held on Magh 11. Chief Election Officer Prakash Prasad Pandit said that the deadline for registering nominations has been set at the office of the Election Officer in Ghorahi by 3 pm.

Nominations have started being registered in three clusters in Lumbini Province: one for the disabled, one for women, and one for the open cluster. In which, the Congress and the UML have started registering nominations in coordination.

Basudev Ghimire of Dang from the Congress is registering nominations in the disabled quota and Chandra KC of Gulmi in the open quota. Ram Kumari Jhankri of Gulmi is registering nominations in the women's quota from the UML.

The Nepali Communist Party, the Rastriya Janamorcha, and others are registering nominations separately. They have not yet finalized their candidates.

The terms of the National Assembly member Gopal Bhattarai and the National Assembly Vice-Chairperson Bimala Ghimire elected from the UML, and Jag Prasad Sharma of the then Maoist Center are ending on Falgun 20.

Bhattarai participated in the open cluster, Ghimire in the women's cluster, and Sharma in the disability cluster. There are a total of 304 voters in Lumbini Province, including 87 provincial assembly members and 217 local level chiefs and deputy chiefs.
