The driver of tractor number Lu 2 Ta 3935, which met with an accident in Chandrakot Rural Municipality-4, Shantipur on Thursday night, was found dead in the sand carried by the same tractor, said Police Inspector Parbat Kumar KC of the District Police Office, Gulmi.
The driver, who was said to be absconding after a tractor accident, has been found dead in a pile of sand.
The driver of a tractor (Lu 2 Ta 3935) that crashed in Shantipur, Chandrakot Rural Municipality-4, on Thursday night was found dead in the sand carried by the tractor, said Police Inspector Parbat Kumar KC of the District Police Office, Gulmi.
Locals had informed the police on Friday morning after seeing the tractor overturned in a field about 20 meters below the road. The tractor was being removed from the scene for repairs, saying that the tractor had crashed and that the driver had fled since he was not there. Meanwhile, Police Inspector KC confirmed that the driver, 25-year-old Suraj Sarki of Satyawati Rural Municipality-6, was found dead in the pile of sand that had been formed when the tractor was carrying the same tractor.
Two people under the command of Police Assistant Inspector Krishna Bahadur BK had gone to the scene. Meanwhile, the police along with the tractor owner Hom Bahadur Gharti of the same place had reached the scene. After seeing a person's leg buried in sand while the tractor was being removed from the scene for repair, a five-member team under the command of Police Inspector Gyan Bahadur Manjhi from the Area Police Office, Ridi, was deployed for further investigation.
The person found dead in the pile of sand was identified as the tractor driver by the vehicle owner, Gharti.
