Guns and explosives found inside a barn in Arghakhanchi

A police patrol team has found weapons and explosives hidden inside an empty barn.

A team deployed under the command of DSP Diwas Bahadur GC had found explosives in a shed located in Bokse, Sheetganga Municipality-11 on Friday.

Two loaded guns, 14 grenades, 12 detonators, three plastic pipes and launcher-like objects, one pressure cooker bomb, one steel bomb, four bundles of electrical wires, 500 grams of gunpowder and other explosives were found in the shed, which was empty in the forest, DSP GC said. The explosives were disposed of by an army team, he said.

The shed, which was built for cattle and buffaloes, had been empty for a few years after migration. Currently, the NCP led by Nekrabitram Chand has been cultivating vegetables including potatoes by renting the farmland in the area along with the shed.

‘Even though the Biplav cadres cultivated potatoes, there were no people there when the explosives were taken under control,’ DSP GC said, ‘During patrolling, we found the explosives lying unattended inside the shed. It is not clear who placed them.’
