Cold wave disrupts normal life in Banke, schools closed

Normal life in Nepalgunj has been affected by cold wave and frost. Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City, Kohalpur Municipality and Khajura Rural Municipality in Banke have decided to declare a school holiday after the continuous cold wave affected normal life.

Due to the cold, the municipal education department of Kohalpur Municipality has decided to close schools for two days . According to the education department, based on the suggestions received, all community and institutional schools within Kohalpur Municipality will be closed on Poush 9 and 11.

The Khajura Rural Municipality Education Committee's meeting on Tuesday decided to give holidays on Poush 9 and 11.  Meanwhile, since Poush 10 falls on Christmas and Poush 12 falls on Saturday, the schools will be closed for four days with two days off.

The decision to close schools was made keeping in mind that the increasing cold along with the cold wave will cause difficulties in movement and may also adversely affect the health of students.
