A fire broke out at a workshop in the district headquarters of Tamghas on Monday afternoon due to an electrical short circuit, causing damage worth Rs 6 million. The fire broke out at the Sujata Auto Workshop and Parts Center located in Resunga Municipality-8, near the Tamghas Bus Park petrol pump, due to a sudden electrical short circuit.

The fire that broke out at the workshop run by Bikram Sunar, a permanent resident of Dhurkot Rural Municipality-1, Naya Gaon, caused damage worth around Rs 6 million, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Gulmi.

Sunar, who was slightly injured while extinguishing the fire, has been discharged after treatment at the Gulmi Hospital. All the materials in the workshop have been completely destroyed by fire. Most of the physical structure of the workshop has also been damaged.

Sunar, the workshop owner, informed the police that a total of Rs 6 million worth of damage was caused to all the materials and physical structure. Important parts of various types of motors, including other materials, were destroyed by fire in the workshop.

The fire, which was brought under control with the help of the fire brigade, police, city police and locals, did not cause any damage anywhere nearby. A 45-member police team was deployed under the command of Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Chief Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Gulmi, to control the fire.

After the fire took a terrible shape, the small fire guns brought from the District Police Office, Gulmi, could not control it. The fire was brought under control with the use of fire engines. The fire brigade of Resunga Municipality, a police team deployed from the District Police Office, the city police and locals helped in extinguishing the fire.

Fires occur from time to time due to electrical short circuits. Although a large amount of human and property is lost due to this, no awareness programs have been conducted regarding this. A lot of damage has been caused by such fires.
