The main accused in the Rajapur shooting incident has been arrested from Kailali. Mahabir Chaudhary, 51, of Tulsipur-6, Dang, was arrested by the police from Kailali on Thursday.
Earlier, the police had taken Ram Kumari Chaudhary, Buddhi Chaudhary and Rahul Chaudhary, the owners of Hamar Tharu Restaurant located in Rajapur Municipality-4, into custody for questioning.
The main accused in the shooting incident, Chaudhary, was arrested from Kailali, said Police Inspector Prakash Singh Karki of the District Police Office, Bardiya.
27-year-old Niraj Tharu of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-5, Dang, died of gunshot wounds last Sunday. Niraj was found unconscious at 8 am on Sunday at Hamar Tharu Restaurant located in Rajapur Municipality-4. He died during treatment in Nepalgunj. According to the police, holes were seen under both ears of the deceased Tharu.
Police have said that more details will be revealed after the post-mortem report comes. The reason and how the incident happened are not yet clear. Niraj Tharu was working at a poultry farm located in Rajapur Municipality-4.
