Three people have been taken into custody for investigation in connection with the shooting death of 27-year-old Niraj Chaudhary, who worked at Hamar Tharu Ghar Tharu Restaurant in Rajapur Municipality-4.
The Tharu died during treatment at the Teaching Hospital in Nepalgunj after being found unconscious at 8 am on Sunday, said District Police Office, Bardiya Police Inspector Prakash Singh Karki.
Police have arrested three people and are investigating the death of Tharu. The main accused in the incident is absconding and a search is underway.
Police have sealed off the Tharu restaurant and are investigating. The police have not yet provided information about why Chaudhary was shot dead. His body has been kept in Nepalgunj for postmortem and further confirmation will be made after the report comes, the police said.
Relatives are in India and the postmortem will be conducted after they arrive by Tuesday, said Prani Karki. The police have not disclosed the information of the arrested people either.
