The SSB (Indian Border Security Force) has banned the entry of vehicles with Nepali license plates into India, except for Gularia in Bardiya and Murtiha in India.

Police have banned the movement of Nepali and Indian vehicles at the Rajnawa checkpoint in Gulariya Municipality-10 on the North-South Highway.

Two foreign nationals were arrested a week ago while entering Rupaidihama via Nepalgunj without a passport. The Armed Police Force has said that the Indian security personnel stopped the checkpoint after the bomb blast in Delhi.

The ban has been imposed because Nepali vehicles have been providing free movement of vehicles up to the Indian border market of Mihinpuruwa. Indian security personnel have already banned the movement of Nepali vehicles through the Indian border routes including Laukahi, Chitlahawa, Balaigaun, according to the police.

Indian security personnel have said that the ban on vehicles through other traditional routes other than the main checkpoint has been imposed due to the impact on peace and security due to terrorist activities in India.

There is no ban on Indian vehicles entering Nepal via Murtiha. But the movement of four-wheeled vehicles with Nepali number plates has been banned. Except for the Indian statue connected to Gulariya, the general public is forced to suffer due to the ban imposed everywhere.

Indians have been entering Nepal in vehicles. Manohar Lodh of Gulariya-10 said that after banning Nepali vehicles, vehicles with Indian number plates should also be banned.

Most Nepali citizens have illegally kept dozens of Indian vehicles in the Nepali border area without paying the toll tax. Nepal Police does not have the data on this. Chief District Officer Gogan Bahadur Hamal said that he would seek information from his Indian counterpart regarding the ban on vehicles.
