The District Police Office, Rupandehi, has seized illegal goods worth nearly Rs 2.3 million in two days. During checks conducted at various locations in the district on Kartik 21 and 22, goods worth an estimated Rs 2.288 million, which were illegally imported and evaded customs duties, were seized, according to the Rupandehi Police.

The seized goods were sent to the Bhairahawa Customs Office, Belhiya, Rupandehi for necessary action on Kartik 23, said Suraj Karki, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office.

According to him, a team deployed from the District Police Office has recovered goods worth Rs 125,800 including woolen ladies' kurtas, children's socks, caps, tow set, hoodies, and jeans from Mainihawa in Rohini Rural Municipality-2.

Similarly, a team deployed from the Area Police Office, Butwal has recovered goods without a bill hidden under the back seat of a car with an Indian number plate in Shankarnagarbat in Tilottama Municipality-3. Police have said that goods worth Rs 1,840,228 have been recovered, including the goods and the car.

Police have recovered a laptop charger bag, a cow-shaped statue made of yellow metal, liquor bottles, mobile displays and display packets of various companies, and gum packets from the car.

Similarly, a joint team deployed from Police Post Shivpur Gonaha and Police Post Maryadpur has recovered a motorcycle with the number Lu 22 Pa 1257, a woolen ladies suit, a uni shawl, raw cloth, ladies thick woolen suit, raw cloth and other items worth 322,200 from Gonaha in Mayadevi Rural Municipality-5.
