Police have seized 28 sacks of sugar smuggled under customs control. The sugar was seized during a check on the East-West Highway at Bhaluwang Pulchowk, Rapti Rural Municipality-1 on Monday, said District Police Spokesperson DSP Chakra Bahadur Shah.

Shah informed that sugar worth Rs 140,000 illegally brought in a mini truck with registration number LUPRA 01-001 Kha 0058, which was going from Kapilvastu to Pyuthan, has been seized and sent to the Krishnanagar Customs Office, Kapilvastu for further investigation.
