More than 400 border residents have received services at a free health camp organized by the Armed Police Force. Citizens of the border areas have received services after undergoing health check-ups at a free health camp organized by the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 31 Battalion, Surajpur, in Gulariya Municipality-10, Ratnapur on Thursday.

Laxminarayan Lodh, Ward Chairman of Gulariya Municipality-10, said that the residents of the ward were happy to get free health check-ups in their own village. ‘Citizens of border villages of both countries have availed services in the said camp,’ he said, ‘By organizing the camp, the Armed Police has helped to establish mutual brotherhood between the border residents of both countries.’

Muktinath Yadav, Mayor of Gulariya Municipality, said that the Armed Police has been deployed day and night on the border, giving the residents a sense of security. ‘The presence of the Armed Police on the open border has allowed the residents to sleep soundly throughout the night,’ said Mayor Yadav, ‘The interest shown by the Armed Police in such health check-ups of the border residents is commendable.’

In addition to the security of the Armed Police, Senior Superintendent of Armed Police, Dhruba Bahadur Karki, Assistant Brigade Commander of the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 5 Bindhya Basini Bahini Rupandehi, said that the Armed Police Force has reached out to the people in times of need in times of sorrow and happiness. "We are working with the aim of understanding the concerns of the border residents and keeping them happy," he said. "The Armed Police Force has been organizing various programs as per the wishes of the border people, and health check-ups have been conducted by organizing camps accordingly."

Man Bahadur Shahi, the commander of the Armed Police Force Nepal 31 Battalion, Surajpur, said that 468 border citizens took part in the one-day free health camp. "239 people underwent eye, 118 ear, 81 dental and 30 general health check-ups," said Shahi. "Necessary medicines have also been distributed free of charge."

The free health camp was organized by the Armed Police Force Nepal 31 Battalion, Surajpur with the technical assistance of Deep Dental Clinic, Nepalgunj Eye Hospital Pvt. Ltd. and Feco & Retina Surgical Center.
