A cyclist has died after being hit by a rice harvester. Tara Singh Hamal, aged around 71, of Rajipur, Geruwa Rural Municipality-2, died after being hit by a combine on Wednesday afternoon.

Police Inspector Bhupendra Kumar Budhathoki of the Area Police Office, Patabhar, said that a combine harvester that was returning from cutting rice on the Patabhar paved road section of Geruwa Rural Municipality-2 hit Hamal, who was riding a bicycle, at 2:30 pm.
‘Hamal, who was injured in the accident, was immediately taken to Rajapur Nagar Hospital for treatment,’ said Police Inspector Budhathoki. ‘We have received reports that he died during treatment.’
Police have taken the combine and the driver into custody and further investigation into the incident is underway, informed DSP Devendra Kumar Malla.
