A young man has died in a motorcycle accident in Gulmi. The incident took place at Jharna, Ishma Rural Municipality-1, Tamghas-Chhaldi-Simaltari section along the Madan Bhandari Highway.

The deceased was identified as Saroj Basnet, 26, who was riding behind a Pulsar motorcycle bearing the number Lu 56 Pa 8426, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Gulmi.

He was riding behind a motorcycle driven by 27-year-old Mohan Singh Basnet, a resident of Bakhrecheda, Resunga Municipality-2, last night. Both were residents of Bakhrecheda. Saroj, who was seriously injured, was brought to Gulmi Hospital for treatment, but the hospital declared him dead. The motorcycle driver is in police custody.
