Some people have occupied the land of the Cotton Development Committee, which has a red certificate, by building houses and huts overnight. Three bighas of land belonging to the Cotton Development Committee located in Durgapur, Madhuban Municipality-8, were occupied by various people on Sunday evening in the name of the Nepal Pure Landless Swatantra Party by building houses and huts.

The board states that they will not do any damage if the state makes arrangements for their settlement and that they will continue their agitation until their demands are met.
A local said that people from Dailekh, Jajarkot and other districts have come and built tents overnight and are cooking under the open sky by lighting a fire. 
Birendra Raj Parajuli, the executive director of the Cotton Development Committee, said that he received information that about 150 people had come and been sitting on the land on Sunday evening. ‘It is already night, we have also informed the CDO,’ he said, ‘We have the land title deeds for that land. However, it is not clear for what purpose and where people have come and sat on that land.’
The Maoists had occupied the land during the armed conflict. In 064 BS, the Armed Police Force had removed the Maoist encroachment and set up their camp. About four years ago, the armed forces camp was transferred elsewhere and the land was handed over to the Cotton Development Committee.
Chief District Officer Gogan Bahadur Hamal said that as soon as he received information that unauthorized people were now living on the land of the Cotton Development Committee, he sent police to investigate. ‘I have only been transferred today,’ he said, ‘I am understanding what has happened. No one is allowed to go against the law.’
